Every Child Deserves A Fun-Filled Summer
The American Camp Association estimates the average cost of daytime summer programs to range from $199 to $800+ per week. This can be a huge deterrent for families in need. When children aren't engaged in summer learning activities, they fall prey to summer learning loss: a phenomenon where children lose up to 2 months of their academic instruction. Long term, students who are unable to participate in engaging activity during the summer fall behind significantly in school.
By offering free summer programs, DLF helps reduce the gap in the summer learning loss that disproportionately affects children in low-income communities.
Dallas Leadership Foundation provides safe, educational, and free summer activities for students aged 12-18. We need your help to #KeepCampFree for DFW students this year!
